So recently, I decided to take on a 365 Day Challenge. Have you ever heard of it before? Basically, you choose a topic and share about it on the social media platform of your choice for 365 days straight. You can Google it, and you’ll find lots of ideas for various types of challenges. Some are really simple (like daily journaling), others are pretty involved (like the Julie-Julia project), and then there are those that are right in the middle (like photographing different topics each day).
Since this is my first 365 Day Challenge, I chose to do a combination of a photography and writing challenge, which I’ll be sharing each day on Instagram (If you’re not following me there, what are you waiting for?!). I found a similar challenge on PhotoBlog.com so I’m roughly going by that. Each day you have a word, and you capture a photo that depicts that word. I decided to add a little bit of writing to my photos as a way to connect and share a bit more than a photo alone would.
I also thought I’d drop in here every Saturday and post a weekly recap in case you’re not on Instagram, but you’d still like to keep up. You’ll find the first week’s recap below.
365 Day Challenge :: Day 1 / 365
Day 1 :: Bucket List
My bucket list isn’t all that long at this point; however, it does exist. One of the things on it is to one day hike the Appalachian Trail. Read the full description here.
365 Day Challenge :: Day 2 / 365
Day 2 :: Sharp
Burdock grows everywhere on our property. This particular plant is one I asked Dean NOT to cut down as I’m planning on harvesting the leaves and seeds from it later this year. Read the full description here.
365 Day Challenge :: Day 3 / 365
Day 3 :: 3.5 or less
While I don’t claim to be a professional photographer, I can manage my DSLR in manual mode, so when I saw today’s photo challenge topic, I immediately knew what it meant. Low aperture = blurry background. Read the full description here.
365 Day Challenge :: Day 4 / 365
Day 4 :: Arrow
Today we went to a Catch-A-Dream fundraiser at a local archery club where some good folks were raising money to make a terminally ill child’s dream come true. Read the full description here.
And that’s it for this week’s photos. Thanks for being here and letting me share little pieces of my life with you!
