Another Learning Herbs: Monthly Herb Challenge Is Almost Ready

If you’re a natural mama that’s interested in using herbs for your children’s nutrition and healing, my Learning Herbs: Monthly Herb Challenges are just what you need! This next challenge is all about the herb YARROW!

How These Herb Challenges Came To Be

Back in May I was working through my herbal online courses and learning so much about how the body and herbs work together; however, I realized that I was flying through all these different herbs so quickly that there was no way I was going to be able to remember everything about them! Sure I was learning how the body worked and what types of herbal actions and energetics to look for when it came to working through certain issues, but oh my word… there are a lot of herbs that can be used. Which ones were best? Which were okay for my kids? Which ones were toxic in large doses or interacted with other medications? I didn’t know the answers to those questions unless I looked them up online or in a book.

Sure I knew bits and pieces of info about many herbs, but I didn’t know them really well. If someone were to ask me a question about a health issues they were dealing with, I could probably name a few herbs to help, but I wouldn’t have been too confident unless I double checked in a book. I didn’t want that. I wanted to be confident with my herbs. I wanted to know them. To understand them. To have experience with them.

That’s when I decided to slow down and take to learning herbs, one at a time.

I decided to share what I learned here on my blog because you, like me, wanna know more about raising naturally healthy kids, and using herbs is a big part of that! So in June, the first Calendula Herb Challenge was held, and I was blown away by the interest. I never thought that herb challenge would be a big hit, but it was!

Time For More

Seeing as how I received so many comments, emails, and Facebook messages after that challenge, thanking me for the amount of information that was shared and the fun projects that went along with it and asking when the next one would be, I’ve decided to do another one on the herb yarrow… another great herb that every mama needs to know about and have around her house!

In order to make these herb challenges even better and something that you can really learn from I’ll be formatting this next one very differently from the first. The info will be broken up into smaller bite-sized pieces, and yes, there will still be projects and extras like last time.

If you’re interested in learning more about this herb and my monthly herb challenges, be sure you sign up to receive my Letters To Natural Mama emails because I’ll be telling you more about them there and sharing some awesome information that you won’t want to miss about using herbs in your family VERY SOON.

If you’re wondering when the next challenge will be, here you go. My plan was for this challenge to go live during the month of August, but I don’t think that’s going to happen… at least not without compromising the amount and quality of the content… which I refuse to do. If I’m gonna do this, it’s gonna be done right. I’m shooting for this challenge to be held in September and another one in November, but don’t worry, you’re gonna get some great updates and reminders about the challenge in my Letter To Natural Mama emails… but only if you’re a subscriber that is. Don’t miss it!

Did you participate in June’s Calendula Herb Challenge? If so, what was your favorite part?
  1. Monica says:

My favorite part in the Calendula challenge is growing Calendula. I learned so much more understanding how to grow, what part to dry, what time of the day to harvest the flower head. Next I enjoyed learning a way to infused soft flower herb, without using the crockpot, to make it very hot in my home..Wintertime I love the warmth, summertime, ugh, too hot..Actually, I love learning what to do with calendula.. You’ve have shown me so many ways I can use this wonderful herb for myself and especially for our kids! Thank you Meagan, you did a wonderful job!!

    • Meagan says:

Yes I postponed it Mandy. I’d love to do it, but they take a TON of time so I’ve got to figure out how to do it and get it to work into my schedule well. I’m so type-A, and I want them to be amazing challenges so again, it just takes a lot of time! If you’re on my newsletter list, you’ll get an update when I get around to it.
