House To Home: Almost There

Oh my word, it’s been way too long since I’ve done an updated post on our house adventure. Thankfully we’re almost done and ready to move in. In fact, we’re moving in the weekend after Thanksgiving which is like… in a week. I’m a bit stressed about moving and all, but thankfully we have a BIG family that is willing to help!

Okay, so if you missed the first two posts in this house adventure of ours, you can find the first one here and the second one here.

Since my last post on the house we’ve had some big improvements. We put rock on our stove area and grouted that, we finished staining the doors and putting trim up, our kitchen appliances were installed and the island built, and the porch railing has been started. See the photos below.

Slowly we’ve continued to chip away at the big projects until there were only the bathrooms left and other little project. All those little projects seem to take FOREVER, especially when you have to wait until the man is off work and the kids are busy to get things done. You can see some of our bathroom progress in the photos below.

At this point… we’re pretty much done with the majority of the inside. We do have some things to finish once we move in, but once those things are done we can focus on our outside projects like an update roof and siding, a mud room, sheds, and landscaping. All in good time though.

Now all that’s left to do is clean up, move in, and start making our house… our home.

I’ll post again once we’ve moved in! Thanks for keeping up with us.

BTW… if you have any moving tips… I’d love to hear them. I’m not trilled about being 4 months pregnant with 3 little kids and moving during the holidays, but hey… life happens and you do what you’ve gotta do, right?

How exciting! It’s looking so beautiful. I’m so happy for you that you are moving in this weekend. 🙂

Thanks… me too. The whole packing up one house and moving it to another one isn’t so exciting though. Thankfully we have a large family to help and it will eventually get done.

Looks so beautiful Meagan – a wonderful place to grow herbs, children, a marriage and create a story-book life. I am so pleased for you. For those of us who are old and gray, with small families scattered across the globe – your lovely life is like looking through a magic window and feeling a huge glow of warmth – enjoy!

Oh Candy! Thank you so much for your kind words. I tell ya, this has been a fun, adventurous time for us, but also a very stressful time. Thankfully, I feel like we’ve grown closer together, and I’m glad we’re ready to move in and continue making it into what we want our home to be like. I get so caught up in the here and now and wanting it to be all those things I envision NOW, but I realize that’s not realistic and it cuts out the process or journey of it all. Thank you again!
