It all started with a deep longing to slow the mess down — my life, that is. It seemed to be flying by far too quickly while I was running helplessly after it.
Did I mention that I’m a Type-A, ENTF, Capricorn, and Enneagram 8? Yeah, the rat race is my game, baby!
Nonetheless, I found myself desperately needing to get off the hamster wheel and regain control of my life, even if it meant sacrificing my love of the “hustle” and changing my definition of “success.”
What I really wanted was a way to slow my days, to connect with myself, my friends, and my family a bit more, and to create a peaceful moment of solitude amidst my busy schedule.
Little did I know the answer would be found in a daily cup (or two) of tea.
It started in the cold of winter by carving out some alone time for myself each morning to enjoy a tasty cup of warm tea, do some journaling, and spend time in devotion. That act alone gave me space for connection, peace, and solitude. Soon I began to share this daily routine with my four boys during our afternoon homeschool group lessons, allowing me to connect with my family and slow my day down even further. Eventually, I realized that this daily tea ritual was ingrained into my days and something I craved no matter who it was with or when it took place.
The simple act of taking time to prepare a cup or two of tea each day also allowed me to be more aware of myself and how I felt. I found myself relying on the power of herbs to meet my body’s needs, whether I formulated my own tea blends or used pre-formulated blends from another herbalist, in a way I never had before. Not only had this daily tea ritual helped me to feel more in control of my life, but it also helped me to feel more grounded in mind, body, and soul as well as become a better herbalist in the process.
There is something deeply empowering about the act of blending and drinking tea.
So here I am, three years later, sharing what I’ve learned about this process with you.
In this in-depth three-week course, I’ll lead you on a journey to developing your own daily tea ritual, learning how to formulate your own unique tea blends to suit your needs, discovering how you can share your handcrafted tea blends with those around you, and crafting teas for all seasons and occasions.
Each week, we’ll focus on a different aspect of this intentional act of slow living. We’ll sip the same tea blends together, read through informational lessons, test our knowledge with mini-quizzes, and take this art even further with weekly homework assignments. We’ll be inspired by 30+ tea recipes that we can use throughout the year. We’ll even challenge ourselves with a final Winter Solstice tea blending exercise that will put this entire course into practice.

Week By Week
WEEK 1: The Daily Tea Ritual
In the first week, we will explore the ritual of tea — the difference between traditional tea and herbal tea, how to brew the perfect cup, how to properly store and dose tea, the art of having a daily tea time, and how to create your very own tea ritual.
WEEK 2: DIY Tea Formulation
In the second week, we will dive into making our own tea blends using a beneficial tea blending tool — the tea blending triangle. Here we will deconstruct how to create our herbal tea blends to create well-rounded formulations that not only taste nice but are effective and energetically-balanced. We’ll do this by using the tea blending triangle to create four herbal tea blends together, each with a different purpose and flavor, so that you can see this helpful tool put to use.
WEEK 3: Connecting Over Tea
In the third week, we will look at what it takes to share our handcrafted tea blends with others as a means to facilitate connection, whether it’s sharing our daily tea time with someone or simply gifting our tea blends to friends and family. We’ll also bring our learning into the kitchen with 30+ tea recipes to explore — including seasonal blends, constitutionally-balanced blends, celebration blends, and wellness blends.
COURSE CHALLENGE: Winter Solstice Tea Blend
